This course provides an overview of Autodesk Maya for 3D modeling and animation. The program will help you to develop and refine your design skills and will teach unique animating techniques. Coursework is designed to give participants all the necessary knowledge and skills they need to make a demo reel and high quality renders. Student's background experience can range from beginner to advanced users. Some of the topics covered in this course are:
Navigating in Maya - getting the most out of perspectives.
Model creation techniques - fast production techniques and effective modeling methods.
Editing tricks - spotting potential problems with modeling creation and keeping rendering time effective.
Texture Creation - giving variety to all kinds of surfaces and simulating environmental materials.
Material Simulation - learning to address environment setup and how materials interact.
Keyframe Animation - learn how to use keyframes and setup effective loops. Learn how many possibilities there are when setting up keyframes.
Use of Gravity - give your animations more realistic effects.
Particle Effects - the power of emitters and using particles to simulate a wide variety of effects.
Object Pathing - how to get the most out of curves for animation and modeling purposes.
Cloth Effects - introduction to cloth effects and using constraints to give scenes more life.
Lighting - see how effective light sources will give your renders and animation great depth.
Setting Up Scenes - set the stage to make an effective scene renders with both single frame renders or animation! Use of cameras and different scene setups. Rendering - the differences between Maya software and mental ray renders. Getting the most out of your rendering methods.
Duration of this course is 12 weeks with classes being held 2 sessions per week. In some cases 2 sessions are combined into one for convenience of students. Training duration per week consists of about 4-6 hours of instructor based training combined by about 6-4 hours of self practice for a total of about 10 hours per week.
